  2012 Dodge Charger SRT8
2012 Dodge Charger SRT8. The new product onslaught continues for the Dodge brand with the announcement at the Chicago Auto Show that the Dodge Charger SRT8 will return for the 2012 model year.
The 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 will be built at the Brampton Assembly plant in Brampton, Ontario, Canada and will be in dealer showrooms later this year.
2012 DODGE CHARGER SRT8 POWERTRAIN
Under the hood, the new 6.4-liter HEMI® V-8 delivers more horsepower and torque than the 6.1-liter HEMI V-8 it replaces. It also will offer improved fuel economy.
Estimated power ratings for the 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 are 465 horsepower and 465 lb.-ft. of torque, including an estimated additional 80 lb.-ft. of torque at 2,900 rpm. Specific horsepower, torque and fuel economy numbers will be announced closer to the vehicle introduction.

Building upon the standard Fuel Saver technology (four-cylinder mode) found in the new 6.4 HEMI V-8, a new for 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 active valve exhaust system allows the technology to engage over a wider rpm range, which delivers improved fuel efficiency or the use of all eight cylinders when the power is needed.

OUTSTANDING RIDE AND HANDLING
New for 2012, the Dodge Charger SRT8 features an adaptive damping suspension that uses a wide range of on-road and driver inputs, such as vehicle speed, steering angle, steering speed, brake torque, throttle position and lateral acceleration, to automatically tune the suspension for specific conditions.
The performance SRT-tuned, fully hydraulic steering system also is improved with a new, heavy-duty pump and revised gearing to give drivers more direct feel and on-center response.
New, split five-spoke, 20-inch lightweight forged and polished aluminum wheels with black painted pockets provide great looks, and the available three- or four-season tires make the 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 easy to handle and fun to drive.
Exclusive new front and rear fascias, along with a new rear spoiler, distinguish the 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 with a high performance look.

The front grille, grille surround and Dodge crosshair feature high-gloss black finishes and the SRT badge. A newly sculpted hood features a 6.4 L (liter) badge and black air exhauster for added engine cooling.
Building upon the all-new design from 2011, the interior environment of the 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 combines more world-class accommodations with race-inspired technology and appointments.

The new 2010 2011 Acura NSX has advancements not only under the hood. On the outside, waste was trimmed everywhere in the NSX-from the frame members to the suspension arms to the connecting rods-to achieve leaner, meaner functionality. In the cabin, the vehicle’s deeply sculpted bucket seats position the driver close to the center of gravity, poised to respond to the road. On the dashboard, the instrument cluster boasts large gauges that convey performance data against a dark blue background for easy reading at high speeds. Up above, the removable aluminum roof panel comes off quickly when you rotate a lever on each side, and is light enough for one person to lift easily. This feature is just another demonstration of how Acura has made the new and improved 2010 2011 Acura NSX into a work of art. And we’re not even talking about the available 2010 2011 Acura NSX body kits – these can make the vehicle from a work of art into a masterpiece. Check them out today.

ntroduced for 2002, the front-drive RSX replaced Acura’s entry-level Integra. Though similar in dimensions, the RSX featured new styling and promised more power. The new model came only as a two-door hatchback coupe, whereas the Integra had been offered in coupe and sedan body styles. Acura’s RSX came in both base and sportier, performance-oriented Type-S trim. Each used a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The 160-horsepower base model could have a five-speed manual or optional five-speed automatic transmission. In the Type-S, the engine made 200 horsepower and was available only with a six-speed manual gearbox. The Type-S had a firmer suspension, but the same 16-inch wheels and tires as the base model. Both versions included antilock four-wheel disc brakes and front side airbags, plus automatic climate control and a sunroof. Leather upholstery was standard in the Type-S and optional for the base RSX. The Type-S also contained an in-dash CD changer. Competitors included sport coupes like the Mitsubishi Eclipse and Toyota Celica, as well as the Mini Cooper and Volkswagen New Beetle

2011 Acura MDX

2011 Acura MDX
 2011 Acura MDX
Acura first launched its luxury crossover in 2001 to take on luxury utility vehicles like the Audi Q7, Lexus RX, Cadillac SRX and Infiniti FX — yet with a decidedly biased sporty on-road behavior. Now the latest MDX features the Super Handling AWD system and is tuned to tear up the asphalt, not the dirt. Acura developed the MDX with testing on Germany’s Nurburgring — which is why you won’t find a low-range transfer case on the options list of the MDX.
The latest MDX features a new 3.7-liter SOHC VTEC V6 with 300 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque, which Acura says now features more heavy-duty parts for extra longevity. Acura has replaced the five-speed automatic transmission with a new six-speed transmission, bringing EPA fuel economy to an estimated 16/21 mpg for city/highway driving.
The MDX is offered in five trim levels starting with the base model and moving up through the Technology, Technology and Entertainment, Advance and Advance and Entertainment groupings. The Technology package adds premium leather trim, navigation, and a 410-watt audio system, while the Advance package adds to that a collision-detecting system that pre-charges the brakes, adaptive cruise control, blind spot information and an active damper system for the suspension. The Entertainment package, which is offered with either the Technology or Advance groups, includes a rear seat monitor, DVD player, wireless headphones and heated rear seats.
In addition to drivetrain changes for the latest model, Acura seems to be building on the corporate look previewed by the TL and TSX — as the MDX gains revisions to its front and rear fascia similar to Acura’s latest offerings. The now-infamous Acura “beak” has been toned down here compared to some of its siblings, while new 19-inch wheels and brighter tail lamps round out the exterior changes.
Inside, the MDX features heated and (optionally) ventilated “Milano” leather seats, a thicker sport steering wheel, paddle shifters, new gauges, revised button placement in the center stack and overall upgraded materials. Acura’s Real Time Weather and Traffic Rerouting features are newly available with the optional navigation system.

2012 Hyundai Elantra Gets Active Eco System

We’re halfway to 2012, but the 2012 Hyundai Elantra is already on the market, and has received a few updates.
The 2012 Elantra gains Hyundai’s Active Eco System, which comes with all Elantras with an automatic transmission. In a press release, Hyundai says, “The Active Eco System modifies engine and transmission control for improved fuel economy by smoothing out throttle responses. By selecting the Active Eco button, drivers can realize up to a seven percent increase in real-world fuel economy.” With the system, Hyundai says the Elantra will still get the 40 mpg highway rating the 2011 model averages.
In addition to the Active Eco System, Hyundai has added fog lights to the GLS Preferred Package and improved horn sound, among other small changes. The 2012 Hyundai Elantra is available now, and is slightly more expensive than the 2011 model. 2012 Elantras with a six-speed manual transmission start at $15,195, which is $250 more than the 2011 model. Elantra Limited models reach $20,445 without the Technology Package. The Technology Package adds navigation, a rearview camera, a premium audio system and push-button start for $2,100.

2011 Ford Fiesta

2011 Ford Fiesta
2011 Ford Fiesta
 2011 Ford Fiesta
The 2011 Ford Fiesta ranks 2 out of 33 Affordable Small Cars. This ranking is based on our analysis of 25 published reviews and test drives of the Ford Fiesta, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.
Reviewers are nearly unanimous in saying that the 2011 Ford Fiesta sets new benchmarks for the affordable small car class -- even reviewers who don't go that far say Honda and Toyota should watch their backs. The Fiesta debuted in 2010, and this year, the Fiesta gets even more accolades: We named it the 2011 Best Subcompact Car for the Money.
Ask any car lover and they'll tell you: some of the world's best small cars never make it stateside. With the 2011 Ford Fiesta, that's changed. On sale in Europe since 2008, the most recent iteration of the Fiesta has finally arrived at dealerships in the U.S. AutoWeek says, "The Fiesta is as good a small car as can be found, sourced from anywhere in the world. That it comes from the Blue Oval is remarkable and heartening; its brilliance is the first ray of sunshine on what has been a seemingly midnight horizon."
The Fiesta gets high marks from almost every reviewer who has driven it because it offers things many other small cars lack: a fun driving experience and a comfortable, upscale cabin. With the Fiesta, many reviewers say Ford may radically alter what American buyers expect from small cars. The Fiesta has features rarely seen among Small/Subcompact Cars, from available heated seats to Ford's SYNC system to an airbag for the driver's knees. But what will seal the deal for many buyers is the Fiesta's hybrid-like fuel economy. Ford says it should get 30 miles per gallon in the city and 40 miles per gallon on the highway. Those numbers are close to what many hybrids offer, but the Fiesta will cost thousands less. These strong characteristics led Consumer Guide to name it a “2011 Best Buy.”
However, there's always the risk that the praise may be premature. Reviewers have been enjoying well-optioned higher trims. In the base trim, which comes with few standout features, reviewers may not be so effusive.

Other Cars to Consider

If you're looking for a fun-to-drive small car, the Fiesta isn't the only option, but it is one of the least expensive. The Mazda3 wins a lot of praise for its driving dynamics, but it starts at about $2,000 more than the base Fiesta -- and can’t match the Fiesta's fuel economy, which is among the best in the class. The Mini Cooper comes close to the Fiesta's fuel economy ratings, but costs about $5,000 more than the base Fiesta. However, if you're considering a well-optioned Fiesta (higher Fiesta trims start only about $1,000 below the Mini's base price), the Mini's BMW-sourced driving dynamics may make it worth looking at.
If practicality is your main concern, you should check out the Honda Fit. While reviewers flat-out say it isn't as much fun as the Fiesta, it starts at less than $1,000 more than the Fiesta and has lots more cargo room than the Fiesta hatchback. It also only trails the Fiesta's estimated fuel economy by five miles per gallon on the highway and two miles per gallon in the city.
